Planning for your Newborn Session

Before your session

I book my newborn sessions in the mornings. I ask that you please feed baby 2-3 hours prior. It's 100 better to plan on feeding baby as soon as you arrive at the studio. For the 1-2 hours before leaving your home to come to the session please do not let your baby sleep. Instead try giving them a bath or letting them kick with only a nappy on, tickle their toes and let them fuss for a little bit. Keeping your baby awake before the session will ensure those squishy, sleepy newborn pictures!

During your session

Once you arrive, it's time to feed baby! Then we will begin our session! If you have older kids I will start with sibling/family photos first. Sometimes big kids can get a bit bored in the studio, so this way they are free to go with Dad for a walk or for a drive while we focus on bubba.

After your session

Within a few days, I will send your proof images in an online gallery for you to view. Photos in the gallery are raw and unedited. It is at this point that you will decide on which digital images you would like in your package. You can upgrade your package at any time, or add additional images to your package.

I will then spend the next two to three weeks editing and putting the finishing touches on your images. This includes exposure edits, colour edits and skin retouching etc. Your finished gallery will then be ready for digital download. If you wish to then order prints I can help with that too!
